About
Dear Friends and Business Sponsors,
The “Kicking In for Springfield Schools” board, consisting of concern citizens and elected officials, will be hosting their first annual KISS DAY family fun day. This event is structured to help provide a great day and show the importance of unity in families. The purpose of this event is to raise money through sponsorships from our business friends. By showing your generous support you will not only put your business name on a very important event for our community but also know your helping today’s youth become great citizens of the future. The money raised from this event will help give our school system the badly needed funds that are vital to keeping alive those extracurricular activities that help form our children and keep them involved and active outside of the classroom.
Most of our children are experiencing pressures that were not known to previous generations and without our help may feel overwhelmed and possibly make bad decisions. It is the goal of this event to help maintain their options of having constructive, positive people around them that will help prepare them for life outside of and after school. So with that said, we hope you can see why we feel this is such an important event. We look to the business community and the general public for support of these events as it’s an effort that will raise all of our hopes for the future. As Father Flanagan once said “When you help a child today, you write the history of tomorrow”. No truer words were ever spoken.
July 25, 2009 Springfield's first of many KISS DAY (Kicking In for Springfield Schools) events, promises to be fun filled and action packed. The day will start off at 8 am with a softball tournament to be held at Forest Park. Starting at noon at Riverfront Park, we will be featuring side shows, clowns, face painting, acrobats, fire eaters, merchant tents, local venders and lots to eat and drink. Our night time activities kick off at 6:00 PM with a big concert featuring Danny Klein, of the J Giels Band and his "Full House" Band and The Bay City Rollers featuring Ian Mitchell. Our opening acts will include the Wanderers and Cover 2 Cover.
